When we decided to send our son to a private school we toured and applied to 6 locations in Marin and SF. We were accepted at, so our decision to attend Town was not for lack of options. The curriculum, focus on social-emotional learning & inclusion, and culture is incredible and it's tailored specifically to boys! Boys and girls learn differently, we know this, and Town meets the boys where they are. A boy falls, and another boy (not a girl) is helping him up, asking if he's ok. An older boy is guiding/helping a younger boy in assembly. The boys are talking about their emotions to a group of boys, learning together with their peers that expressing emotions and being vulnerable is encouraged and accepted. I also love that women hold most of the leadership positions at the school, so these boys see women in positions of authority daily. The town is a very special place that we are fortunate and excited to be a part of with our son who loves going to school and telling us about his day.
