Kindergarten students attend school from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; attendance on Fridays is optional. The kindergarten day is as follows: morning work period with the entire mixed-age group, circle time, playtime, lunchtime, and an additional work period from 12:30 until 2:00 for kindergartners only, while the younger children are napping. This second work period allows for in-depth lessons and experience with the more advanced Montessori materials, and is provided at no additional charge. Kindergartners who attend on Fridays participate in the morning work period only. The Summer Program emphasizes outdoor activities, field trips, nature studies, swimming lessons, cooking and outdoor art. Water days are great fun, and include face painting, tire scrubbing and footprint painting. Gardening is also an enjoyable and important part of the summer program....
