Children's House of Weld County Montessori teaching aims to duplicate the first environment of Dr. Montessori, by following such laws of nature as: observation, individual liberty, and preparation of the environment. Each classroom is structured to meet the individual needs of each age group. The rooms are furnished with low shelving so that the children can choose their own activities. Age appropriate activities are encouraged. The children learn at their own pace, at their own level without competition. While exploring various activities in the classroom, the children learn by discovery. Activities are structured to have a built-in control of error so that the children may do self-correction. The directress (teacher) of each class directs the children so that they may best benefit from the environment. Academic, social, emotional, and physical needs are of utmost importance to the staff at Children's House.
