School Notes Overview: |
The Rocky Mountain School for the Gifted and Creative is an independent coeducational day school for gifted students ages 4-13 located in Boulder, CO. RMS provides learning plans for students that include Affective and Social Development; Thinking and Study Skills; Mathematics; Science and Technology; Humanities; Social Studies; and Physical Development/Health and Wellness. Students are grouped by social and emotional development as well as ability in multi-age classrooms. As the mission states, RMS “seeks to promote the interconnection of the whole child—intellectual, physical, social, personal, and ethical.” Learning is extended beyond the classroom where students interact with members of the community and with the environment itself. Students in Middle School use laptop computers as an integral part of their classroom learning; technology usage spans the curriculum for all age groups. Low student/teacher ratios allow teachers to support students as they prepare to enter the global community with confidence. ...read more

- In the enrollment process, we strive to make the best match possible. Once a parent/guardian attends a Parent Orientation, he/she may apply to RMS for their child by completing an application and submitting an IQ evaluation. The admission committee will review the paperwork and determine if a 2-3 day student visit to the classrooms is appropriate. A final admission decision is made after the visit.
