Summit County Christian School
School Notes Overview:
Summit County Christian School is an independent, non-profit corporation and private day school dedicated to building faith, growing virtue, and instilling a Christian worldview in the hearts and minds of our students. It is solely supported by the parents of its students, friends in the local community, and partners within the greater body of Christ who are committed to biblical principles of excellence in family, education, and government. Summit County Christian School was first founded in 1989 and has been a continuous member of the Association of Christian Schools International since 1995. SCCS has been an affiliate of the Foundation for American Christian Education since 1999. The purpose of SCCS is to come alongside Christian parents to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God. Our aim is Christ’s mission - that each student knows Christ as Lord and Savior, grows in the strength and admonition of the Lord, and has life more abundantly. We also desire that our program encourage each student to adopt and act on a biblical worldview with a Christ-centered purpose. SCCS desires to provide its students with academic studies set on a foundation of Scripture and in a framework of Christian instruction and example that prepares each student to know and serve the Lord according to His will and purpose. SCCS offers boys and girls in kindergarten through high school rigorous academic instruction, challenging athletic and recreational activities, creative expression in the fine and performing arts, and a healthy, orderly, Christ-centered environment. These elements are applied to facilitate the development of each child spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially, and to build Christian character....
