St Brendan School
School Notes Overview:
Saint Brendan School is an Urban Roman Catholic Elementary School which is part of the Catechetical Mission of Saint Aedan and Saint Brendan Parish. Here children of many backgrounds are prepared spiritually, morally, and intellectually to take their place in society, witnessing to Christ's call to be "The Light of the world," and also to "Seek first the kingdom of heaven." Through the efforts of a faculty rich in experience and under the guidance of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Garden, Saint Aedan/Brendan students are challenged to reach their full potential in every area which should assure the best opportunities for secondary school and beyond. In a structured setting academic excellence is pursued through a traditional curriculum that yet reflects the technological advances of our society. Just as the school sees itself as part of the Catholic Church as a whole and the need for fidelity to Her teachings, so do we also see the child as a part of a family and seek to educate the child with the family's support and cooperation. It is our hope and our goal to prepare the leaders of tomorrow so that tomorrow may be better than yesterday....

Forty years of peace and music has rolled by in the blink of an eye — minus a few years of peace — since half a million long-haired, colorfully-dressed, occasionally-bathed young people packed Max Yasgur’s Bethel, N.Y., farm.
