Fundraising takes colorful turn in Putnam (The Norwich Bulletin)

For the past month, students at St. Mary School in Putnam have been conducting a fundraising and community service drive with a colorful twist. Friday, the 133 students at the preschool through eighth grade school donated more than 200 pounds of crayons to the local nonprofit organization, Crayons for Cancer.

For most of the school year, St. Mary School librarian Geri Gazzola has been known as “Little Red Riding Hood” or the “traveling librarian,” trucking books from another building into classrooms to read to students.
