An Oro Valley man has been given an "honorary alumnus" award from Central College in Pella, Iowa. Jay Huitsing and his wife Betty Brands Huitsing, a Central College graduate, have supported Central for 27 years. They recently and generously named a room in the new education and psychology building.

Willcox Cross Country began its 2009 season Wednesday, Aug. 12. The program is 37 years old, beginning in 1972 under coach Bill Stroud.
