The Bishop-Eton School was founded in 1988 by a group of concerned parents and professionals. The school was established as part of the Academic Excellence Foundation, Inc., a non-profit, tax exempt corporation, to provide an excellent education for students who learn best through experience and individual recognition. The Bishop-Eton School is a coeducational, nondenominational college preparatory day school for Grades K through 12. A post-graduate college preparatory year is also offered. The school year is divided into two semesters of three 6-week grading periods. The curriculum emphasizes mastery of the basic subjects of reading, writing, mathematics and spelling. Other courses include foreign languages, science, social studies, humanities and physical education. Bishop-Eton's mission is to educate average to gifted students who may have a specific learning disability (SLD) such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADH D), language delay, organizational problems, or hearing impairments. learning, for themselves, and for their community.
