How we came to be In the summer of 1986, a group of dedicated Montessori parents and Montessori teachers met together to explore the possibility of establishing a new school.  Idealistic and imbued with pioneering energy, they were determined to make it work.  Brickton Montessori School was first born in the basement of St. Anselm’s church in Park Ridge, IL.  Later that summer the school moved into a vacant space within Pennoyer Elementary School, located in the nearby town of Norridge.
To facilitate growth, in August 1989, Brickton moved to its current location on West Catalpa.  As newly constructed office space, we had the flexibility to design a space to meet our needs as a Montessori school.   At our new site, we began with one toddler class, two 3-6 classes, and one 6-12 class.
Continuing to grow steadily, we added classrooms, filling our building to capacity with one toddler classroom, three Children’s House (3-6) classrooms, one Lower Elementary (6-9) class, one Upper Elementary (9-12) class and one Middle School (12 – 15) class.
Our Mission Brickton Montessori School is a community of learners working together to provide a Montessori educational experience that engages and inspires students to become life-long learners, and responsible participants in our diverse global community.
