Grace Lutheran School in River Forest, Illlinois, provides a high-quality Christian education to children in preschool through eighth grade. Children in the school come from families who are members of Grace Lutheran Church and from the community at large. The curriculum at Grace Lutheran School is based on the State of Illinois Learning Standards. The entire faculty participates in the development and ongoing review of the curriculum. Each subject area offers developmentally appropriate experiences that challenge students to progress to higher levels of performance. A Special Education coordinator provides assessment and remediation for children who are struggling to meet the demands of the classroom. She works closely with public school special education resources. Students work with the Special Education Coordinator and her teaching assistant individually and in small groups. Grace students participate in many activites that reach beyond their classroom studies. They organize fund-raising projects for neighbors around the world. They stage dramatic productions and musicals, lead worship services, compete in academic contests and volunteer in the community.
