Lauren Zumbach of Hinsdale was named a 2009 Presidential Scholar. Zumbach is one of 141 American high school seniors that have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship and service at school and in their community.

Presidential Scholars will be honored in Washington, D.C., June 20-24.

LYONS TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL choral ensembles, marching, jazz and concert bands, orchestras, show choirs and auxiliary units participated in adjudicated performances, personalized feedback clinics and an awards ceremony at Walt Disney World Resort for Festival Disney, a competitive music festival. String orchestra members competed for top honors during the festival.
