Morris Christian School
School Notes Overview:
Morris Christian School (MCS) exists to serve as an extension of the moral, academic, and spiritual training that begins in the home and local church. The vision of a Christian school in Morris, Illinois began years ago in the hearts of individuals who wanted a Christ-centered education for their children. After much prayer and work, the vision became a reality in September of 2000 when Morris Christian School opened its doors to its first students. This vision is shared by Bethlehem Lutheran Church in the heart of Morris, where together we have transformed their educational wing into our school for Christian families throughout our community. MCS provides more than a secular education with an added religion class. Mature Christian teachers, and a prayerfully chosen curriculum, reinforce and build upon timeless Christian values and beliefs taught in the home and the local church. Each student is encouraged to grow to embrace their faith, live a life fully consistent with it, and fulfill God’s command to “continue in what you have learned”. Volumes of research within the Christian community reveal an alarming trend: children raised in Christian homes are overwhelmingly abandoning the Church and rejecting their parents’ beliefs and values as they reach adulthood. Recent studies now put this rising figure at more than three of every four. Researchers have also pinpointed the cause: most children raised in Christian homes never develop a Christian worldview. They never learn to think like a Christian. Morris Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available o students at the school. ...
