Fancy Nancy wears butterfly wings, ballet slippers, boas and bows -- all at the same time. The little girl who fancies herself glamorous and sophisticated is the main character in a children's book, written by Jane O'Connor, that became a bestseller on the New York Times list in 2006. Since then, in addition to large picture books, Fancy Nancy has expanded into the world of mass marketing.

CHAMPAIGN — Illinois basketball coach Bruce Weber plans to keep working the youth movement. Weber said the commitment made by forward Jereme Richmond as a Winnetka North Shore Country Day School freshman and his development during the past two seasons at Waukegan has provided a spark to help Illinois rebound from a slide following the Final Four trip in 2005.
