Students at St. Ambrose School in Godfrey find amusing ways to walk around the school parking lot Wednesday while participating in the 12th annual Madison County Walk Day. The entire student body and faculty trekked around the large parking lot with the goal of walking four laps, which is approximately a mile.

Good news can come in bunches - and if you must know -- it did spring lately from a frisky foursome of young golfers. This quartet of local golfers made the rounds and prospered the past week at the Gateway Sectional PGA Junior Championship. They created their own buzz.

Nine-year-old Madeline Horrell has the outward appearance of a little angel, but inside, she is a fighter and survivor of tumors in the cerebellum. The tumors were discovered Oct. 20, 2005, when the Columbia, Mo., girl had just started kindergarten.
