School Reviews

I moved to Jonesboro from out of state in 2008 and began going to Rigdgefield. I graduated in 2011 and am currently a sophomore engineering student at Texas A&M, a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, have an NROTC scholarship and will commission upon graduating, and currently have a 3.0 GPA. Ridgefield can prepare you for college and the real world if you are willing to take initiative, just like at any other school. While Ridgefield cannot offer the same range of upper level classes as a larger school, they offer what they can. I received a 31 ACT score and several of my classmates scored above a 30. Because of the small size, the teachers care about each and every student. Students become extremely close friends with all of the students in their class and students from other classes. This makes the school more than just a school, but a family. I know the school is not perfect, and everyone at the school is not necessarily a Christian, but that is true of any school that you have. Along with academics, there is a wide range of extracurricular activities. There is a B.E.S.T. Robotics team. The Quiz Bowl team as competed at the state level for a number of years, finishing second one year, and third in the state a number of times. The high school boys basketball team has competed in the state tournament. Both senior and junior high have won conference championships in basketball. The volleyball team is very competitive, as well as the track teams. While Ridgefield is not a perfect school, it has given me unique experiences and opportunities that I would have gained at no other school. I still know that I could pick up the phone and call my teachers if I ever needed advice or help and they would answer, even at 3 o''clock in the morning. I have friendships that will last a lifetime. My only regret is that I didn''t have more time to spend at Ridgefield.
