Since 1941, St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin has meant "high-quality Catholic education" to thousands of young men and women in the Fox Valley area. Emphasizing that our faith in Christ is the most important reason for our school, we seek to produce students who will understand the relationship and influence between religion and life. We are a four-year, coeducational, Central Catholic high school. As a Christ centered high school, theology is an important aspect of each school day. Stef Tovar, who grew up in Bartlett and graduated from Elgin's St. Edward Central Catholic High School, is the founder and artistic director of Route 66 Theatre Company, which currently is mounting a musical theater take on "High Fidelity." Forget the three R's. This school year, students will be learning the three C's: clean, cover and contain. The three C's are part of the new flu guidance issued Friday by the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education. Those guidelines are meant to decrease the spread of both the regular seasonal flu and H1N1 flu.
