Spring Academy was an excellent choice for our 17-year-old son. After struggling at a private HS for his first two years (during the pandemic), he was dying a slow death there as his parents, so were we. Getting to school was a struggle, and completing homework was even a bigger struggle. A "regular" high school experience was just not the right fit for him. It was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. And believe me, we tried to do that. Midway through his junior year, when things continued to go downhill, we decided it was time to start looking for alternative educational routes for him. At the recommendation of a medical professional, we visited Spring Academy. It was a breath of fresh air. Our son didn't care about all the social activities a regular high school offers. He just wanted to get through high school as soon as he could. He was easily distracted (ADHD-Inattentive)when it came to classes and learning, so the 2-1 teaching ratio model that Spring employs worked really well for him and kept him on task. Getting the work done while he was at school (w/no homework) was key. And we were free, too, of trying to manage our son's homework, which improved everyone's home life. He was able to continue working at a job he loved and get to the mountains to pursue his passion for skiing more often since there is no school on Fridays. We are extremely grateful to principal, Andy, and former principal, Frank, for their caring and encouragement, and personal investment in our son's success. Our son liked all of his teachers and is very grateful to have attended Spring. He just graduated last week with a diploma in hand! We are so grateful that we set up that initial meeting - Spring Academy more than met our expectations.

Spring Academy was the service provider for my son, who qualified for writing tutoring through his IEP. He received services at his private school for 3 years. Spring Academy was so fantastic! The tutor focused on the places he needed help. As he improved, she pivoted her approach so he would keep learning. Jane Cutter at Spring Academy is a gem. She is on it with updates and readily available if you have questions. After 3 years my son's writing improved so much that he no longer qualified for services. Each semester his grade went up. I am so grateful. We have used many tutors and service providers in the past for our children as needed. Spring Academy has been one of the best.

I am a parent of an elementary school grade student with learning differences. Spring Academy tutored our students in their private school setting across 2 grades and has made a critical difference in helping our child catch up to grade standards in a relatively short amount of time. Sophie, our tutor, made learning math so much fun and was so effective, that other students in the class asked their parents how they could have Sophie as a tutor as well. Our student definitely had their love of learning revived, and not only caught up to grade standards from being very much behind, but they were able to learn ahead of grade requirements, which made classroom teaching that much more effective, helped them gain confidence in class, and reinforced vital math skills! Many thanks to Sophie who is an excellent math tutor, and Jane Cutter who was easy to work with, coordinated, and advocated for our students with SPS and private school, which made receiving support seamless for us and our family! I would thoroughly recommend Spring Academy for students needing that extra support and help in school!

My daughter attended Spring Academy full-time for 7th Grade. We were extremely impressed by the high-quality instruction and support she received there. The one-on-one (or two) model allowed her to complete a full course load in 3 hours a day, which gave her ample time and space to pursue her passions- dance and art. She enjoyed all of her teachers, and her confidence and sense of academic competency and independence grew and grew. She started at a new school this fall in a traditional classroom setting, and it's very clear that her year at Spring Academy prepared her well. The anxiety she used to feel about herself as a student and learner is so much better! Spring Academy is a truly wonderful resource for any student who, for whatever reason- temporary or long-term, needs a positive academic experience in something other than a full-time, traditional classroom setting.

We homeschooled our kids for most of their lives, but math was a huge stumbling block for me. Even with many of the online resources available for homeschoolers, the ones we tried just didn't seem to really stick or they were so dull that my kids could barely stay awake. Then, during the pandemic, our family experienced a series of significant traumas that hit the pause button on our studies. I attempted to hire in-home tutors for my kiddos (after the need for quarantine had passed) to help them catch up, but ran into a terrible obstacle: in our rural area, we couldn't find any local tutors who were willing to work with my trans son. And very few private tutors were trained to work with any kids who were autistic and challenged by ADHD. So when I searched for a different solution, and a friend suggested Spring Academy, some of the first questions I asked Principal Frank Hewens had to do with inclusion and acceptance of diversity, and whether their teachers understood how to work with intensely socially anxious autistic kids. He reassured me on all counts. My kids' teachers have been warm, understanding, and kind, and knew exactly how to gently draw them out to an excellent mental space for learning. Spring Academy teachers helped my kids advance several levels in math over the 4x-a-week summer session, and my kiddos are very ready to tackle high school math at their new school. Their love of math is apparent, as is their confidence. Priceless. I regret only that I have no more stars to give.

So glad our daughter's high school counselor recommended Spring Academy and my daughter was able to complete successfully a math course this summer. The 1 to 2 teacher-student ratio enabled a highly focused and productive learning environment which we very much appreciate due to my daughter's ADHD condition. Frank made the application process and school visit easy and transparent and Ashley somehow had the impossible magic to make my daughter ask questions and get to the bottom of each question therefore my daughter was able to gain a thorough understanding of the math concepts in question and build strong math foundation for further study. We are thrilled with the progress she has made! If you are looking for results and haven't found them elsewhere, Spring Academy is the answer.

Our daughter endured a health crisis that required us to un-enroll her from our public high school before the end of the first quarter. Spring Academy was flexible and accommodating enough that she was able to complete a full sophomore-year course schedule between January and August. The 1:1 instruction and individualized pace of the coursework were exactly what she needed to manage her care, regain her academic footing, and thrive in her classes instead of potentially missing out on an entire school year. Our daughter will reenter conventional high school this fall; however if that environment does not work well for her, we wouldn't hesitate to return to Spring Academy.

My child attended Spring Academy full-time for 9th grade. Spring was a very positive experience for us after some setbacks and mental health challenges experienced in public middle school. My child excelled academically at Spring and regained a lot of personal and academic confidence. They have a lot of classes to choose from including honors and a Minecraft computer coding class. My child had great connections with the teachers and really looked forward to going to class each day, and as a parent, I felt that the teachers were invested in understanding and supporting the unique needs of my child. I also felt that the teachers accepted my child without any judgment or bias about past experiences. The self-directed learning combined with the immediately accessible support of the teachers worked well for my kid who is naturally curious but needed to build study skills and confidence. My child also loved the weekly game night Spring hosts. Another great feature was the ability to count extracurricular activities we were already doing outside of school towards a P.E. credit. I would highly recommend Spring Academy.

Thank you so much, Jane, I want to thank you and all the team who have supported Mateo all these years. I cannot tell you how much it means to our family. I am grateful and appreciate your hard work and commitment to make a difference in Mateo`s life. I am so proud of Mateo and the growth he has made. I am hopeful he has learned tools that will help him to be successful in High school. Have a wonderful summer! Sincerely, Dolores.

Spring Academy is fantastic, and going there has been amazing. Having just graduated, I`m going to miss working with all the teachers and staff there a lot, and learning has been so much easier here than at any school I`ve gone to previously. I`ve always had a lot of anxiety around school and classes, primarily asking questions or testing, but both of those issues were minimized immensely in spring, and the support from my teachers was priceless in my learning. My younger sister will be attending next year, and I`m confident she and anyone else that attends will have a great experience! -PJ

Spring Academy has been wonderful in transitioning my son from a 24/7 care and school facility to being ready to enter back into a regular school. I feel that we could come back to Spring Academy at any time for a bump up or even a summer school program. They were able to seamlessly get my son to an age-appropriate level in his academics. He was able to shine in math and science and earn high school credit in some areas. They have a game night to help with social skills which my son loved. As soon as you enter Spring Academy you feel looked after. Frank Hewins, the principal, is kind and honest in his approach. He is a great resource. Thank you so much for looking after my son.

I am a parent of a middle school student at a private school. We have used Spring Academy for private tutoring and support during school hours. My son has a hard time focusing in class and struggles in many subjects. Although he is very bright, he has benefited from the extra help. Betsy, our tutor has not only taught him new strategies for learning, but she has also been a great advocate for him. I appreciate Spring Academy helping my child maneuver throughout his lessons in a positive learning environment.

Our daughter had some traumatic experiences in middle school and begin to fall behind in school. She then fell even further behind after covid. We sought help from middle school and high school and from tutors. We sought testing and obtained an IEP. She had treatment for depression. But she still struggled. Spring Academy`s caring and expert staff have been able to help her where public school strategies failed. Our daughter's grades rose and she began to enjoy learning again. But more significant was the rise in her self-esteem and confidence. I highly recommend Spring Academy.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to Spring Academy, and Jane Cutter and Midori of Spring Academy in particular. Their team was instrumental in not only supporting my daughter in Language Arts at her parochial school last year but also in advocating for my daughter with me at meetings with the school administration to acquire more support on her learning plan. In addition, Jane provided me with sage advice on education more broadly for kiddos like my daughter with learning differences. Spring Academy is top-notch, and I would recommend them highly.

Spring Academy has been a lifesaver for our son after he struggled with his mental health post-Covid and was at serious risk of not completing the 10th grade in a traditional classroom setting. Frank Hewins and all of our son's teachers demonstrated nothing but patience and understanding for where our son was at and what he needed to complete his courses and regain some academic confidence. The 1:1 instruction, flexibility, and individualized pace of the coursework were exactly what he needed and allowed him to enjoy learning again. Our son will attempt to finish out high school back in the traditional setting, but if it does not work out, we wouldn't hesitate to return to Spring Academy.

I have had the joy of working with Spring Academy for a few years now. Jane has selected outstanding tutors to come into our building and serve our students. I get the dual pleasure of also being a parent of one of those students, my son thrived with each of the tutors he's had over the years. They are very diligent in planning for each student, punctual, warm, and creative in how they select materials and organize the time.

Spring Academy was a life-saver for our high school students. Our student is smart and emotionally intelligent but was often bored and distracted in class. Being able to work one-on-one and focus only on academics with quality instructors was just what our students needed to thrive in certain subjects. As a parent, I'm not sure how high school would have turned out without help from Spring Academy. Now our student is tracking to graduate this year and is weighing options to continue schooling. We can't thank the administrators and instructors enough and would encourage any parents to explore this as an option for their students if the typical classroom school experience isn't working for them.

My child, who normally thrived in school, really struggled with online learning during the pandemic. Spring Academy, with its alternative approach, really saved the day. Instead of dreading and ignoring school, they looked forward to it and engaged with their teachers. The quality of the content and the dedication of the teachers were remarkable.

We cannot thank Spring Academy enough for helping our son to complete high school. He attended Spring Academy for the summer before his senior year, and then his entire senior year, up to the personal online graduation ceremony. He enjoyed the amazing teachers, the attentiveness of the principal, and being able to choose honors or advanced placement classes in a few cases. He was learning at his own pace, with no homework and unnecessary extra requirements. This simplified education allowed him to focus on improving his personal health and getting ready to apply to college. We're so grateful that another parent at Spring Academy had alerted us to this fabulous 1:1 support system. In our wildest dreams, we could not have come up with a better option for our son. We will be eternally grateful to Rob and Frank and all the fabulous and caring teachers!!

We are very grateful for our partnership with Spring Academy. Our son was fortunate to have the same tutor (Cassandra) for several years, and her patience, dedication, and knowledge were impressive. She was always thoughtful in her words and work. Although her sessions with him were focused on reading, she helped him become more successful in math (story problems) by extension. His goal is to become a math teacher so that more kids can see a teacher that "looks like him". We are Latino. Thank you!

Our daughter has been tutoring through Spring Academy for the past couple years. They are very conscious about her specific academic needs and the tutors she has worked with are top-notch. I have found that, as a parent, staying on top of what's going on and staying in touch with spring academy through the year is helpful. If ever I have had questions or concerns, they have addressed them very quickly.

Spring academy has saved my grades and my outlook on college. When I joined spring, I had a very low GPA and was not doing so well. In, a few months I was very happy with my results and amount of work that I was producing weekly. My grades went up and the speed of learning also increased which keeps it interesting and doesn't allow you to be bored or avoid work. I love the ability to be able to move faster through work which I wouldn't be able to do in others schools. I think Spring Academy is the best for anyone who either needs more interesting work or has had a challenge in their education which may effect their confidence.

Our daughter has attended Spring Academy this past school year. She was behind academically at the end of 8th Grade and needed more attention than she had received in her previous school. What attracted us to Spring Academy was its one-on-one tutoring which is what our daughter really needed. It has been a great experience, and she has made great strides in catching up, even in math, her most difficult subject that she has struggled with. The staff have been incredibly supportive, and responsive if there were any concerns. We have no hesitation in recommending Spring Academy to others.

I was having the worst time with regular school, getting close to a 1.0 GPA at my local high school, and felt that I was out of options. Then I found the Spring Academy. I immediately and repeatedly both enjoyed my coursework and was successful with my classes. I succeeded there, learning things at a far faster speed and ability than at my other school. The teachers were friendly, the other students were amicable, and the courses were enjoyable. In addition, the teachers were well-versed in disabilities and neurodiversity and were, therefore, able to accommodate my needs in a respectful and friendly way, unlike at my highschool. I achieved what I needed to there, completing the entirety of my mathematics and history requirements for high school. Now, with a 3.5 GPA and my "problem courses" out of the way, I can enjoy college and high school without feeling weighed down by my failures. Truly an amazing school.

I took English and History at Spring Academy this year. This school has been free of distractions and easy to focus at. We get a lot more done than we did at other schools. I feel more confident with my answers when asked about content or reading comprehension. Sarah and Levina have helped me interact with what I am learning. Thank you Spring Academy!

Spring Academy has a been a savior. We have tried many other private schools and tutoring centers and Spring is the only one that has worked and really seems to care. Our daughter never complained about going for a tutoring session here. She made progress and walked away with renewed self confidence. Paul, the principal, greets and talks to the students as they come in. He is engaged with each student, even though he is not the one tutoring them. This makes for a welcoming environment compared to sitting in a stark waiting room and being called back for your tutoring appointment at other places. I would highly recommend Spring Academy!

Our child had a few traumatic life experiences during her HS Soph and Jr year. Due to these events, fell behind in math and nothing and no one was helping. Our child is very capable and smart however, was losing all self-confidence. Spring Academy was suggested by her Counselor at school (the one person that seemed to care if our child was successful or not). The people at Spring Academy are beyond capable at what they teach. They also care about the success of the student. Work at their own pace, TEACH so that they understand and build confidence in the students capabilities. I highly recommend Spring Academy. Many thanks to the entire staff!

A great alternative to traditional school. Our child has thrived here after a dismal middle school experience in public school. Because of the one on one method of learning she can move ahead quickly in subjects that are less challenging and get extra support in areas that are more challenging. The teachers and principal are kind, supportive and capable. Our child has recaptured her love of learning.
