The school operates under the auspices of the Order of Saint Augustine and the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova.
St. Augustine Prep has educated young men from grades 9 through 12 since 1959.

Entrance is very competitive and the student body is comprised of young men from seven counties in the southern New Jersey area.
