St. John de la Salle Catholic School was founded in 1948 for English-speaking Catholics in the Rosemoor district at the northern end of Roseland.
The combination church/school building was completed in 1950.
The school was founded by the Religious Sisters of Notre Dame.
St. John de la Salle Catholic Academy of Fine Arts has been one of Chicago's premiere elementary schools for more than a half century! In classrooms at St. John de la Salle Catholic Academy of Fine Arts you will find dedicated teachers that are inspiring young minds to grow and develop.
At the core of St. John’s curriculum, that is, Catholic, are beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church.
While the Office of Catholic Education’s curriculum framework reflects these realities in written form, St. John’s teachers have accepted the responsibility to bring them to life in themselves and in those whom they teach from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
