Grades: PK-8 | 195 students
The fundamentals of reading, phonics and math are emphasized in an accelerated academic curriculum. Work habits are reinforced through daily homework assignments. Study skills are taught and practiced throughout the grade levels. We encourage our students to not only succeed, but to excel. Students are given opportunities to challenge themselves through enrichment projects and creative activities to develop their critical thinking skills. Our classes are designed to be at or below 20 students per class to better meet the individual needs of our students, maximizing their full potential while developing a sense of independence and self-confidence.
Children are given opportunities to discover the world around them through hands on activities, field trips, and scientific inquiry-based learning.
Students perform in a Christmas Extravaganza and in a Celebration of Greek Independence Day. Students receive Greek language instruction as part of the curriculum for kindergarten through sixth grade. Students celebrate their own heritage as part of the curriculum through 'show and tell', social studies, and creative projects.
On the Stanford Achievement Test, our students consistently achieve scores well above the national averages. The graduates of St. Nicholas School go on to a variety of the best high schools and universities. More than a third of our seniors consistently qualify to enter honors programs in the high schools of their choice.
St. Nicholas School is a reputable private school committed to providing our pre-school through eighth grade students with a strong academic foundation in a Christian environment where each child is treated as an individual with talents that must be developed.
Since 1977, we have established a tradition of educating the whole child: spirit, mind, and body.
We encourage our students to not only succeed, but to excel.
