- St. Timothy`s School motivates children to achieve personal excellence through a vibrant yet nurturing learning environment during the formative years of pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Our emphases on chapel services, character education, service learning and social development foster a community of inspired learners and leaders. Dedicated teachers, small class sizes, strong academic and fine arts programs, competitive athletics and innovative technology prepare our students to succeed in high school and beyond. With a commitment to socioeconomic diversity, St. Timothy`s School strives to remain an affordable independent private school. Nestled in the heart of Raleigh`s midtown, St. Timothy`s School is the only Episcopal parish day school in Wake County. Founded in 1958, it became the first non-public elementary school to receive accreditation from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS). Our eighth grade graduates thrive and excel in a wide range of high schools. Each year we have students enroll in local private schools as well as public high schools, including magnet high schools and Raleigh's nationally-recognized charter high school. A few students from each graduating class choose boarding schools. The important thing to remember is that our students are prepared for the rigors and workload of the high school of their choice. That choice reflects the needs, interests and personal preferences of the student and family. St. Timothy's provides a strong academic foundation to prepare students for lifelong learning and success.

I cannot say enough good things about this school. My daughters have gone to St. Timothy's since Kindergarten and love it there. They are far ahead of their friends academically that go to public school. I suggest visiting the school because as soon as you walk in the door you will know what a child-centered environment St. Timothy's is.

The only way private schools can build their financial security is through gifts. Major gifts offer proof of how deeply many donors feel about their private schools. Their munificence is a wonderful example to others.
