  • The Woolman Semester is a high school semester studies program for juniors, seniors, and gap year students.
  • Through a focus on the issues of peace, justice, and sustainability, the Woolman Semester enriches a typical high school curriculum with seminar-style course work and experiential opportunities that promote life-long learning, personal growth and intellectual commitment.
  • Students and staff spend much of the day in small, rigorous academic classes, with substantial time devoted to the hands-on work of the community: the garden and orchard, the kitchen, and the forest.
  • We engage with the world through community events, experiential learning opportunities, local service projects and presentations on our work.
  • Sierra Friends Center is a non-profit organization committed to stewarding diverse learning communities and educational programs which weave together spirituality, peace, sustainability, and social action.
  • Sierra Friends Center hosts the Woolman Semester School, Camp Woolman, Rentals and Retreats, and Grass Valley Friends Meeting.
