St. Cecilia School is a Christian learning center dedicated to the total life experience of the child.
We aim to teach our children how to live life to its fullest.
We recognize that this means educating the whole person - bringing his/her spiritual, intellectual, physical and social being into relationship with self, God, and fellow man/woman.
The school exists as an educational endeavor of the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit.
As an affiliate of this Archdiocese, Saint Cecilia School attempts to present the message of Jesus with an understanding of the present teaching of the Catholic faith.
We welcome all children of the community and respect and are open to their different religious beliefs and backgrounds.
In order to bring about quality education an the highest standards of development, it will be necessary to do the following Foster academic and value formation by employing a variety of teaching methods, relevant textbooks, current materials, experiences outside the classroom and resource persons in the community, Foster ethnic awareness with particular emphasis on the African-American culture, Establish a close working relationship between parents, students, faculty, and education commission, We anticipate that the parents, who are the prime educators of their children, will see themselves as cooperating in the development of a proper academic attitude in their children, Each student is expected to acquire the attitude needed to learn, and to apply himself/herself to the educational process.
The student will be encouraged to strive for excellence in his or her work.
The faculty will strive to recognize and draw out the potential inherent in each child by developing the best possible methods of stimulating and challenging the students.
It is their responsibility to develop a curriculum that will foster the spiritual, intellectual, physical and social growth of the individual child.
It is important to remember that not any one of these areas of growth can be considered secondary to any other.
