This school offers a progressive, 21st century education. Both my children have been there for several years, and not only are they (and most of their classmates) performing well above grade level in most subjects, they are learning to ask questions and follow their interests. It's not about memorizing facts for a test, it's about figuring out the right questions to ask in the first place, finding all the possible answers, and choosing the right one for the circumstance. I''m confident my kids will continue with a lifelong love of learning thanks to the teachers and curriculum at Whatcom Day!

My son has positively thrived at Whatcom Day Academy. All teachers and administrators know my son, know his interests, and have contributed significantly to his education. His teacher has become more like an extended family member. She communicates with me regularly about how he's doing and what he's learning - far more than just a couple of conferences a year. She works to integrate things she knows he finds interesting into his daily work, and the result is an incredibly happy five-year-old who misses school terribly over the weekend. He has learned an incredible amount in his first year, and they continue to challenge him in a way that is fun for him.

WDA is an amazing school with teachers and staff who genuinely care about your children and their education. Both of my children started in preschool and are performing above their grade level. My youngest child would actually have been forced to be in a grade lower in public school due to birthdate. My children enjoy learning & experiencing teamwork and how things relate to real life instead of only being taught what is going to be on a test. I am so happy we found this school.

The teachers really know what they are doing to provide a high quality experience for children and their families. It is more than a school, it is a family-like community.

We had been at WDA for 3 years and opted to try a different private school in Bellingham. Needless to say we returned to WDA, with a much greater appreciation for the exceptional education we had been receiving. WDA has a much superior math and science curriculum. The teachers at the intermediate and middle school levels are beyond exceptional. My children are engaged, eager learners at WDA! Why settle for traditional, linear education models, when you can have truly active learning? Happy to pay the higher tuition for the very BEST private school in Whatcom County.
