The basic principle of the Maitland Montessori School philosophy of education is that each child carries within himself the potential of the adult he will become.
In order to develop his physical, spiritual, and intellectual powers, the child must have freedom--a freedom that is achieved through order and self-discipline.
In the Montessori environment, each child is allowed to move and talk at will, and to work alone or in groups, with the understanding that the feelings and rights of others must always be respected.
The overall aim, then, is to develop within the child a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge that will remain with him long after the regular school day or, indeed, the school years are over.

Hi, my name is Cory Gibbons and my daughter Lyric has been attending this school for going on 5 years now. I was uncertain about the methods of teaching at first because I wasn't sure it would translate to traditional school when it was time to move on. It is hard to put into words how thankful I am that we decided to put our daughter into this school. I have seen how Lyric has grown and flourished beyond belief. Not only academically this school focuses on the whole child making them so well rounded! They don't just teach your child how to memorize what they are learning, they give the children the ability to understand and solve problems on their own which is HUGE! Lyric absolutely LOVES school and learning and school and this school is directly responsible for that! We moved away for Lyric's 2nd-grade year and enrolled her in another Montessori because we love this one so much. It was a horrible experience so much so that we moved back the following year and were lucky to get Lyric back into the school. The teacher and administration really make a huge effort to know each kid as an individual and provide them with what they need to be successful. I'm 100% sure Lyric will be more than prepared and ahead when it's time to put her in a traditional teaching style school. No school is perfect but I would 100% recommend this school!
