St. Ann School

On September 12, 1955, the school opened its doors for the first time to 270 children from kindergarten through the fourth grade.
That day marked the culmination of the dream of Rev. Christopher McCormack and of the faithful he led as the pastor of St. Ann's.
St. Ann's have benefited from what Francis Cardinal Spellman called "the foresight and leadership of Father McCormack in providing Catholic education for the children in the growing area of Dongan Hills." Thousands more have received religious training there in the CCD program.
Still more have played CYO basketball in the school gym.
St. Ann's school was and is a special place for every child lucky enough to grow up in St. Ann's parish.
