St. Timothy's School, founded in 1882, is an academically challenging college-preparatory school for girls, located just outside Baltimore, Maryland. A demanding curriculum is supported with small class size and individual attention in order to fully develop each girl's potential. Our motto, "To seek the truth and uphold it, to be worthy of trust, and to be kind" is the bedrock of a St. Timothy's School education. Girls and boys learn differently and a single-sex education can make a significant difference in the success of young women, especially at the secondary level. Girls' schools sustain a predominately female culture whose hallmarks are caring, challenge, collaboration, competition and an interest in developing each girl to her fullest potential, as well as providing a moral context that will serve them all their lives. The girls' school environment affirms and encourages young women in their capacities as confident individuals, leaders, and agents for social change.
