Holy Cross Catholic School provides a quality Catholic education for students in grades preschool-eight. We welcome three- and four-year-olds to our preschool programs. Programs vary to meet the needs of the individual child. Before and after school care for preschoolers is available. Holy Cross also offers an all-day, five-day kindergarten program. At Holy Cross Catholic School, we offer an education that meets the needs of the WHOLE child. We lay a strong foundation in our faith, and build upon that foundation using quality academic programs. We also offer various extra curricular activities for students to develop their sense of team work and relationship building. Holy Cross Catholic School follows the standards set forth by the State of Michigan Department of Education, as well as those suggested by the Archdiocese of Detroit. The teachers also monitor curricula by creating curriculum maps. Our curriculum focuses on both the academic and faith formation of our students. The Marine City High School Homecoming Festivities will culminate on Friday. Starting with the annual parade which will kick off at 5:00 p.m. The parade starts out at Holy Cross Catholic Church and heads north along the river.

Registration for Port Huron High School students will be Aug. 26, 27 and 28 at the school, 2215 Court St. Juniors and seniors can register from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 26. Sophomores and seniors can register from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 27. Freshmen register from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 28. All students are expected to attend registration.

There’s still no such thing as a free lunch, but here’s a way to get a free picnic site: Daily entrance fees will be waived at Florida’s state parks Sunday in recognition of National Parks and Recreation Month. Looks like the weather will cooperate, too, with warm and mostly rain-free skies all weekend.
