- More than 100 years of educational excellence distinguishes The Blake School—a pre-kindergarten through grade 12, co-educational, non-sectarian, college-prep independent school, renowned nationally for its students’ success as well as the outstanding quality of its faculty, curriculum and facilities.
- Blake enrolls over 1,375 bright, inquisitive students from more than 56 Twin Cities-area communities. The school’s three-campus configuration offers both a large school experience with a breadth of academic, athletic, artistic and social opportunities, with more intimate campuses where every student is well known.
- Blake believes in the value of a liberal-arts education and offers a challenging core curriculum that integrates academics, arts and athletics yet provides options for different academic paths and focus based on a student’s special interests and ability. Blake’s curriculum is designed to enhance learning, to develop the individual student as a whole, to nurture a multicultural perspective, and to foster community and world involvement. Curricular options and enrichment experiences, offered across all disciplines, include AP work in 14 subjects, College in the Schools classes and independent senior programs. Foreign language instruction includes Spanish (starting as early as pre-kindergarten), French, Mandarin Chinese and Latin. Students have access to innumerable technological learning tools throughout their time at Blake. With small class sizes and excellent student-teacher ratios, Blake is able to provide quality one-on-one attention and support for all students, balancing academic rigor with care and personal attention to ensure success, not stress.
- Students’ impressive SAT and ACT scores and the school’s matriculation list (including such colleges as Northwestern, Yale, Carleton, and Stanford) are objective indicators of the excellence of Blake’s program.
- Blake’s expert teachers bring an average of 18 years of experience to the classroom; many have advanced or specialty degrees in education. They are dedicated to supporting bright students and developing conceptual understanding and creative problem solving.
- The Blake School seeks qualified students of many backgrounds and talents. Blake’s strong financial aid program (at $3,500,000 one of the largest in the Midwest) provides need-based aid to help make Blake affordable to all.
