French Camp Academy head coach Nathan Wright said he was pleased with his team's effort throughout most of the season that saw the Panthers post a 7-4 record, but said his team let one slip through their fingers in a 33-6 loss to homestanding Mount Olive in the first round of the MHSAA Class 1A playoffs.

The visiting Panthers of French Camp Academy hit West Oktibbeha with some heavy punches early, but weren't able to knock out the Timberwolves until Jovon Turner broke loose for a 54-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to seal a 27-14 win.
