The Laurel Christian School takes a spiritual approach to education. LCS is an extension of the Christian home and strives to encourage, support, and inspire students and families in a system of values consistent with the Word of God. It was the battle of the brains at Jones County Junior College Wednesday as high school students from 21 area high schools gathered at JCJC’s Ronald Whitehead Advanced Technology Center to vie for the title of the “No. 1 Math Bowl Team” in the region. - LCS beats Christian Hunt, 4-1 (Laurel Leader-Call)

Brownie Girl Scouts Troop No. 204 conducted a project to remember some of the area’s soldiers serving in foreign countries. Bridget Morgan, troop leader for the group at Laurel Christian School, said the troop began several weeks ago talking about some local people serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
