  • For over 50 years, New City School students have received an education that is challenging and joyful in equal measure. Students age 3 through 6th Grade participate in a hands-on, experiential curriculum guided by the theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI). By connecting the concept of MI to knowledge of brain development, teachers at New City School provide students with challenging curricular opportunities that encourage learning and growth, allowing students to develop their individual strengths and grow into confident, joyful learners who are successful academically, are knowledgeable about themselves and others, value and appreciate diversity, and are prepared to lead in the classroom and beyond.
  • New City School is committed to strengthening and sustaining the socioeconomic diversity of the school community and offers a Variable Tuition program to support families at different income levels. The school embraces the joys and challenges that come with living and learning in a diverse environment. The school defines diversity very broadly, and views childrens` understanding of identity, diversity, and issues of social justice as a key to achievement in school and beyond. Additionally, the school does not avoid difficult conversations that may arise as a result of questions about larger issues of social justice; rather, these are faced head on, in an age-appropriate manner.
