Laurie Mezzalingua didn't feel sorry for herself when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29. "She was a very spiritual person who saw her cancer as a blessing," said her brother, John Mezzalingua. "She would thank God for it. Today, parents, teachers and students from Manlius Pebble Hill school will be working on making Green Lakes State Park a better place to visit. The volunteers will complete various improvement projects around the park near Fayetteville, including mulching the playground areas.
