Groundbreaking was also held for a new middle school that will house a multimedia arts center, including a 300-seat theater. The expansion doubles the school's current space by taking over the old carriage house. "The Claremont Stable, historic stables, was currently being developed as condos. And unfortunately as the market turned, the condo project didn't work out, which led to a great opportunity for the Stephen Gaynor School to take over the property," said Dr. Scott Gaynor, head of the school. The Claremont Stables is on the National Register of Historic Places and operated for 115 years before it closed in 2007.")
