Spirit Breakfast, 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Bishop Ready High School, 707 Salisbury Road. Guest speaker will be Chris Strickland, assistant athletic trainer for the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team. Cost is $15, with proceeds to benefit the school's athletic programs. Bake Sale, sponsored by the families of Grove City Christian School, 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Teabury Square South and Andover Strait in Hoover Park. The sale will benefit the Grove City Food Pantry and will run until all items are sold out. The rain date is 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.

Calvin Goodman, son of Matthew and Christy Goodman of Columbus, has been named to the 2009 All-Diocesan Academic Honor Team. He is a graduating senior from Bishop Ready High School, where he is a member of the BETA Club and National Honor Society. Goodman also is a member of the bowling team and participates in theater productions.

Twenty-two to 23 people in housekeeping cover three shifts at Memorial Hospital. For the past year, they have answered to environmental services manager Sean Breckenridge of Marysville-based Scioto Services.
