A Before and After School Enrichment program and a Pre-School Program are available to serve the needs of younger children and working parents. The SMM School Board serves as an advisory board for the principal and pastor.     St. Patrick's Day buffet: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 5, Wilco Area Career Center, 500 Wilco Blvd., Romeoville. Cost $6 per person. Menu includes mulligatawny soup, seasoned corned beef brisket, boiled red potatoes and cabbage, chilled Waldorf salad, Irish soda and rye bread, green cheesecake.

    Franklin County Catholic school leaders hope they can find ways to stem decreasing enrollment despite a tough economy. Across the country, Catholic schools are closing as students leave the private institutions. Enrollment declined 14 percent nationally between 2000 and 2008 and 1,267 schools closed, according to the National Catholic Educational Association.
