Friends Select School's mission is to provide a challenging, college-preparatory academic program to its diverse, coed student population, from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. Members of the Friends Select community believe in the Quaker values of respect for all, simplicity, the peaceful resolution to conflict, and a constant search for truth. The school works to achieve a balance between the needs of individuals and the community, in an atmosphere of cooperation and concern for the betterment of all. LOVELAND, CO-Ann Peterson, 88, died Aug. 10 at North Shore Health & Rehab Facility in Loveland. Ann moved to Loveland in 2008 after 55 years in northwestern Connecticut. She spent 53 of those years in Cornwall, in her red house on Valley Road, next to the waterfall she loved. - Ann Peterson (Missoulian)

Thomas B. Gerlach, 82, a former executive in the Philadelphia office of Turner Construction Co., died of kidney failure Feb. 7 at his home in Strafford, Vt.
