Andrew Avancini, 65, of Thayer, died at his home Oct. 29, 2009. Born Dec. 29, 1943, on Highland Mountain at Quinnimont, he was the son of the late Bennie and Lucinda Adkins Avancini. He also was preceded in death by brothers Wade Avancini and Andy Lewis Avancini.
Trinity boys win SCISA 2A cross country title (Florence Morning News)

The Trinity Collegiate boys team won its second straight SCISA Class 2A championship Saturday at Heathwood Hall. The Titans placed a record six runners in the top 10 as they finished with 24 points, well ahead of The King’s Academy.
