St. Peter's Catholic School is unique in its mission to teach as Jesus did, teaching and modeling gospel values. Having served St. Peter's parish and Columbia since 1852, St. Peter's Catholic School is the oldest Catholic school still in existence in the Diocese of Charleston. St. Peter's provides a traditional curriculum for grades K-4 through 6, with a strong emphasis on developing each student's potential. We believe that the students of St. Peter's Catholic School should acquire Catholic beliefs and a knowledge of God in order to help them attain their ultimate goal--union with God. St. Peter's Catholic School is unique in its mission to teach as Jesus did, teaching and modeling gospel values, providing our students with a moral foundation and enforcing the values initiated by their parents. St. Peter's students are challenged to become more knowledgeable and well-integrated Christian citizens, thoroughly equipped to take their place in society. At St. Peter's Catholic School, the process of education is never static. We view the educational process as an ongoing experience, dedicated to teaching basic skills in a way that encourages children to want to learn.
