The Village School is a private day school located in west Houston for children, preschool through eighth grade. It was founded in 1966 and operates as a proprietary day school. We are accredited by the Texas Association of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS). Our students genuinely care about learning and are taught by a faculty who loves to teach. We offer a challenging, traditional curriculum which emphasizes phonetic reading and traditional math concepts. Our school brings together students of diverse talents and backgrounds in a quest to develop superior scholarship as well as those values that impact character and integrity. Our mission is to foster excellence through knowledge, character, and service in pursuit of this goal. We seek to provide a wide array of opportunities so that every child can be successful. Our school is dedicated to the development of the "whole person," striving to guide each child to his or her maximum academic potential. We are seeking to help each child grow physically, academically, socially, and emotionally. Self-confidence and a sense of true self-worth in both the academic and social fields are primary goals of our school. To fulfill the needs of the individual child, varied teaching techniques are utilized in order to find the most meaningful approach for each student. We firmly believe that a warm, supportive atmosphere is of benefit to every child, at home as well as at school.
