Probable flu case closes Brownell Middle 'til Monday (Detroit Free Press)

Brownell Middle School in Grosse Pointe Farms will be closed through Monday due to a probable case of H1N1 flu, but the rest of the district will remain open, school officials said today. All Brownell activities have also been canceled.

Fear over the possible spread of swine flu reached its highest level in metro Detroit on Sunday with three school districts and one Catholic school announcing they would close buildings for various time periods beginning today. The biggest shutdown affects the 19,000-student Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, the third-largest district in the state.
