Fredericksburg Academy is an independent, nonsectarian school that offers a challenging college-preparatory program in a nurturing learning environment. One hundred percent of our graduates are accepted to four-year colleges and universities. We enroll 550 students from Prekindergarten through Grade 12 on a 50-acre campus, which includes two academic buildings, a Sports Center with a gymnasium and a pool, two libraries, a 413-seat theater, five playing fields, four tennis courts, a cross-country trail, and two playgrounds. ...

School Notes:
- Fredericksburg Academy is the only independent, college-preparatory, prekindergarten-12th grade school in a 50-mile radius. Our students come from the Fredericksburg area and from counties as far away as Westmoreland, Hanover, and Prince William to experience the opportunities provided by an FA education. Defining aspects of the Fredericksburg Academy experience are:
- Lower School: differentiated math instruction, visitng artist program, Responsive Classroom social curriculum, foreign language beginning in prekindergarten, musical performances in each grade
- Middle School: Peer Mediators program, sixth-grade exploratory foreign language, overnight field trips, no-cut athletics, advisory program, opportunities in the visual and performing arts
- Upper School: 1:1 laptop program, Honor System, collegiate schedule, individualized college counseling, student leadership, Senior Exhibit (graduation requirement that includes internship/learning experience, application, and panel presentation), opportunities in the visual and performing arts

St. Catherine’s, runner-up to Flint Hill in the VIS Division I state tennis tournament the past two years, gained revenge with an 8-1 romp yesterday on St. Christopher’s courts and reached the semifinals. Nia Jones scored two goals to lead Fredericksburg Academy past Steward in the VIS Division II quarterfinals. Mary Taylor Tepper cut the lead to 2-1 but the Spartans couldn’t tie it.
