I've been having nightmares. In my dreams, I am standing on a street surrounded by art deco hotels and shops like those in Miami Beach. However, these pastel pink and green stucco buildings are pressed right up against the dusty, ominous mountains of Afghanistan. I am holding hands, tightly, with my children.
