    Barbara M. (Schulz) Haitsch, 74, of Bethel, died Sept. 13, 2009, at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of James Haitsch for 52 years. Mrs. Haitsch was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Danbury, daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Schweitzer) Schulz. She was a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran School and Danbury High School.

    DANBURY -- Republican lawmakers and local officials fear a one-year moratorium on state aid for school construction could affect several local projects.State Sen. Michael McLachlan, R-Danbury, said the state budget passed last week puts a moratorium on state assistance for school projects until 2010.
