Ridgefield Montessori School provides Montessori education to the children which had created by Dr, Maria Montessori who was a medical doctor and pioneer educator who was born in Italy in 1870 and died in 1952. As her life’s work she developed a teaching philosophy that balances freedom with responsibility in the classroom and also sets high standards of intellectual and social development for children. Our toddler program begins with the basics: toileting, dressing, serving themselves snack, and learning the boundaries of the classroom. At 40, Ridgefield nursery school has new name and new programs (Ridgefield Press)

The core values remain and the nursery school classrooms are open but what was once the Methodist Nursery School at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church is now Jesse Lee Day School, with more programs, more space and even more opportunities to develop young minds this school year.

As the kindergarten class graduates and prepares for first grade, the Ridgefield Montessori School will prepare to “graduate” to a new home, after outgrowing the current space at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church.

Sue Seifer collapsed as she was going to church recently, and had no pulse. Today, she is alive and well, the ‘Miracle Lady.’ Out of work? Several organizations and churches are offering help.
