- At American Christian Academy, the world is our classroom. In 1979, Mr. Kurt Porter was working with a private school when he felt God calling him to begin a Christian school in Tuscaloosa. He opened American Christian Academy. In 1989, a large number of faculty and students from another school in Tuscaloosa saw an opportunity to contribute to A.C.A. and joined the school. This influx of students created new problems. The first project was to improve the athletic facilities. The ACA has partnered with a DCH SportsMedicine as the exclusive provider of athletic training services to the athletes who compete for American Christian Academy. Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC’s) are skilled in the areas of recognition, prevention, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
