School Notes

  • The Montessori approach offers a broad vision of education as an aid to life. It is designed to help children with their task of inner construction as they grow from childhood to maturity. It succeeds because it draws its principles from the natural development of the child. The child's innate passion for learning is encouraged by giving him/her opportunities to engage in spontaneous, purposeful activities with the guidance of a trained adult. Through their work, children develop concentration and joyful self-discipline. Within a framework of order, the children progress at their own pace and rhythm, according to their individual capabilities.Integrated into the CFMS experience is religious formation using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. CGS offers the heart of our Christian faith to children ages 3-12 using the Montessori method.

CFMS is an incredible school! Your children will thrive here. The teachers, staff, and administration are dedicated to the children and their families. The parent community is so welcoming and supportive. I was sold by the impressiveness of the eldest children in the school who were so mature and welcoming. I heard an alumni parent describe the fact that their children were often mentoring their peers because they just knew how to navigate the world and make good choices. The academics just fell into place because they were well prepared and had cultivated the internal drive to make it happen on their own. That's what I wanted for my children.

I`ve been a parent of two CFMS students for 9 years and have had a wonderful experience at CFMS. It is a special gem that I feel so fortunate to have found. Everyone deserves a Montessori education and CFMS is a wonderful community of progressive, socially conscious, invested parents and teachers. The school intentionally keeps the school small, diverse, and financially accessible. I would recommend CFMS to anyone and everyone.
