The Katherine Thomas School is an independent day school for students, preschool through grade 12, with language and learning disabilities and high functioning autism. The school’s mission is to enable students with these disabilities to reach their full potential through a multi-sensory, developmental, language-intensive curriculum. We address the individual needs of each student to facilitate success at home, school and in the community. At the Katherine Thomas School we believe and try to make it a reality that each child reaches his or her potential and fulfills their dreams. Our hope and gift to our students is our commitment to instill a love of learning, a deep appreciation for school and a curiosity and thirst for knowledge.

  • Recommended December 11,2012 - Have a daughter on the high end of Autism Spectrum and we were looking for a smaller learning environment for Middle School and we found it here. With MCPS she had been switched to consult status for OT and Speech, at KTS she has both again plus counselling. Her reading has quadrupled, she has read 8 books and done a written or oral report on each (1st semester is not over yet)! The true team approach is great at KTS.*-Posted by Parent *
