The purpose of the Army and Navy Academy character development program originates in the Academy's mission to Educate and Develop Good Character in Young Men. Character development assemblies foster the development of honorable character, as well as the Academy values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, and Compassion.
Excellence in academics stems from passionate teachers, a challenging curriculum, a motivating and structured learning environment, and positive role models. Excellence in academics is an essential piece of the Army and Navy Academy experience.
Participation in physical activity is an integral part of a healthy day. At 3:15 each day, our campus is transformed into an Olympic Village. Every one of our Cadets is involved in some form of physical activity every day.

- Army and Navy Academy is an internationally recognized college-preparatory military boarding school for boys, grades 7-12 that follows University of California standards and incorporates leadership training centered around its JROTC program. Since 1910, Army and Navy Academy has sought to develop scholarship and honorable character in young men.
- Our Cadets benefit from having a greater degree of structure, motivation and discipline in their daily routine. One of our core competencies is the academic achievement of our students. On a regular basis, we see students improve their GPA's, often within the first semester of attendance. Small class sizes, a highly committed staff and individualized support enable students to achieve better results and improve their chances for attending a college or university of their choice.
- Mandatory JROTC leadership classes emphasize teamwork, honor, self-esteem, citizenship, study habits, and time management. Band, performing arts, extracurricular clubs, and CIF and intramural sports complement the academic program.
